This project, as some of you know, was "supposed" to be completed by August 1st!!!
So, these are my "so-far" pictures, but show how it is shaping up!
The "2" corners of the deck are five feet and the corners graduate to eight deep.
When
I designed the pool and decking, I chose the swirl effect on the
length. It came out really nice. That, I'm happy with!
In the center of this, the large section of the deck, which is 15ft
wide and the length of the deck, which is 75ft, is where my Zen
Waterfall is going. Thanks to some great ideas I got from one of my
blogstream buddies, AKUAKATHLEEN from "Looking Behind Gets You Ahead."

On the right, it looks like Sir Edgar Allan's "butt." He's the only one that has "pool priviledges."
So, what is left is the Cabana which is going to be built next week.
Outside the pool area there will be a deck for the grill and table and
chairs and ...maybe....even some people!!!
The Cabana will hold my whicker set, table and 4 chairs, a ceiling fan
with a light, my frig and a couple of whicker cabinets.
I look forward to it being self-contained as now, being as far
from the house as it is, I'm getting just a little more exercise than I
am used to!!!!
I guess if you vanish for a few days from blogstream, we'll know where you are! LOL! I'm glad it's finally coming together, after all the major headaches you've had with it...
And I love your new background too....Solid is renovating and redecorating and creating...This is a very good sign...

I swim in that pool EVERYDAY and EVERYNIGHT!!! It's my safe haven, it's like a pond in the woods...in fact I fell asleep on the float the other night...slept for about 4 hours and that's long for me!!!
I'm a water baby anyway. Could never stay out of it!!

And yes, the serenity. It's where I go, especially late at night...light some candles, lay on the float and look at the beautiful stars.

A ONE TIME event, trust me...I hide mine from myself. All kidding aside, I use it to talk to my sister in Georgia, my cousins in Philly...BUT..
I thought it would be cool. It will be "A Night With Solid, if you Dare!" And believe me, many will black out on that night!!!
I'm geting silly and have lots to do here today. In fact, i have an appointment in town in about 30 minutes.

I love the pool and the wood decking - here in California we have what is called "cool" decking which is kinda like swirled cement with air pockets - it is not suppost to get hot - but trust me - it does - but it is nice to wash off and keep clean. It looks like your get plenty of use and I know you will enjoy it. Great design. God Bless - LfL

I do enjoy the look and feel of wood, so warm. The job was massive due to the amount/the size decking I wanted, and the swirl effect. But it's all worth it now, having that part, anyway...completed!!!
Still have the Cabana to be built and that for me is very essential to relaxing, having everything handy!! And of course, the deck outside the privacy fence for the grill and dinners, when entertaining. I do enjoy having folks over and spending a relaxing evening, so it's working for me!!! And also, for others!!!

When you get the cabana built, you will be in need of a qualified Cabana Boy. I am eminently qualified, as I spelled both cabana and eminently correctly. I don't swim worth a darn, but if the bottom of the pool needs cleaning, I do a mean impersonation of a rock.
Take a plane...a fast train, but get here if you can!!!
